Q: What is Lifeinthecity.com?

A: Lifeinthecity is an independent WebTV and community site that gives important media time to the PEOPLE, not to the celebrities - in the first place.
You’ll find the celebs in the EXCLUSIVE films, and today we cover MUSIC, FASHION, POKER and SPORTS.

The production started in spring 2007 by Karl Johan Larsson as a project in Sweden, and under the www.lifeinthecity.se domain address. As the project grew, a new logo and .com was registered. More categories, talents and hosts were recruited and now you can enjoy it wherever and whoever you are in the world. All viewing is free and if you register/sign up, you can use the share-, embed-, rate- and comment functions of the PEOPLE films.

They main category is PEOPLE, and this is the base for the site as we want to hear what YOU have to say.

If you can’t be there, we will be there for you.

Q: What is a PEOPLE film?

A: We interview interesting people and their friends wherever we meet them, this might for example be on the street, at a concert, before, after and during an event or why not at a fun party? Everyone is welcome to be filmed by us and to speak their mind, or just say hello. We always aim for interesting conversations, and we honor respect and politeness. Your name is presented with a title in the film.
The process is constantly being improved, but if we have spelt your name wrong in the film, please forgive us. We will do our best to get it right.

We are happy to interview anyone no matter sexual orientation, skin color, sex or religion.

We will not interview people who are disrespectful or under the influence of drugs or alcohol. Neither will we agree to show any obscene or racist behaviour. We only publish interviews with people that approved our conditions and sign the contract on location.

After the film is published, you can get new friends by approving them as your buddy on our site, or you can choose not to :). If you sign up for a membership, you can share, comment, rate and embed your own or other People films.
When a film with your participating is online, you will receive an e-mail with a link that leads directly to the film you are in. The order of appearence is random, but usually kept in the same day and event of shooting.

Q: What is an EXCLUSIVE film?

A: We interview and shoot these films under more prepared conditions and aim for deeper, researched content from artists, performers, enthusiasts and entrepreneurs in our categories. These films can be more extensive than PEOPLE films, and take several days to shoot. Live footage, music videos, behind the scenes, “making of” mixed with interviews. Even tips and tricks mixed with do’s and don’t about our category’s are show here. We hope you’ll like it.

Q: Does Lifeinthecity.com publish sent in materials?

A: Not at this point.

Q: Can I blog or live chat at Lifeinthecity.com?

A: Not at this point. We concentrate to bring you fresh films. But you can send private messages and comments in the forum of course.

Q: How can I place an ad at www.lifeinthecity.com?

A: Simply contact us, and we get back to you asap. Both commercials/spots or banner ad’s can be shown. We can also provide with commercial filmproduction with 20 years of experience, or designed Flash programmed banner space.

Q: Where can you find us?

A: We try to be where it happens, and travel a lot. If you register an account, you'll get the newsletter and you'll see where we are planning on to be next. If you have a suggestion, please contact us on info@lifeinthecity.com. More categories are coming up in the future.

Q: Why does the host “crosswork” their category sometimes?

A: The hosts that represents the different categories work professionally in their area. We always aim for good material and “know how” to get it right.
In the PEOPLE section though, all the hosts can appear. We also take in guest hosts when needed.

Q: I was filmed but can´t find my film.

A: We’re working quite fast, and after a shoot the film will be published asap. Normally within 48 hours. If you were shot and you still do not receive an e-mail about participating, your film was most likely singled out for quality, time or technical reasons. If you spelled your e-mail account address wrongly, or if the e-mail is not active, the mail from us might not reach you even if you’re starring in one. Or maybe the form you filled out on site was too hard for us to read. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause as we will always try to do our best to get the material out for you to watch as soon as possible.

Specifications of use:

We have done our best to make this site user friendly and easy to navigate. If you find something that doesn’t work properly or have other realistic suggestions, please contact us. The videos are coded in Flash for easy progressive download on all platforms.

There are many ways to code a video with a very high quality but we have choosen to prioritise on giving you a fast upload for everybody to enjoy, not only for people who has the latest computer setup or enjoys a large bandwidth. We will upgrade this the future when the world is getting better and everyone has faster connections. We might put out better quality options for those with better platforms but this is to be confirmed at a later stage.

The video today will play back with Flash 7 installed, but if you download Flash 8 you will get the fullscreen mode and other goodies that we recommend. You can download it for free at Adobe.com.

We recommend an internet connection with a download speed at 0.5 m/bit (500kb/s). A portable laptop Turbo 3G Wireless modem with a strong reception is a benchmark that that we used for be sure that people could watch these films smoothly without hassle or waiting time.

Advice: If your video stutters, just click the “pause” or anywhere in the video player area to let the download catch up. Watch the loading bar as it grows, they press play again. Add favourites to your playlist for easy handling and build a list of your films.
